Effective Decision Making

1-Day Leadership Development Workshop

Friday, 28 April, 2023 (TBC)

Schools that participated in our previous workshops:

As leaders, we must juggle many different demands, facing situations that require a variety of decisions and responses. All too often, managers rely on a small set of responses that work well in one situation but fall short in others. These responses wouldbe fine if we lived in a predictable, orderly world. But we don’t.

This hands-on leadership development day will equip you with the tools you need to make effective decisions in the uncertain, complex world of today.

Managing expectations (60mins)

Even if we have the tools to classify and prioritise tasks, making decisions is very hard if we are not crystal clear on the expectations for our team.

Participants will revisit the group norms established at the start of the day and consider how clear their own teamnorms are, particularly for meetings where many key decisions are made. Do their norms take account of the different DiSC profiles that are likely to exist in their team?

We’ll then do an activity about how to say no to requests so that we can say yes to the things that really matter.

Clarity of expectations is essential for decision making, as is assertive leadership
